I would concur with previous recent posts. Wonderful owners. Lots of permanent sites, however. One major complaint was the high cost: full hookups, cable and two children came to $48.50 a night. Too many other campgrounds in Lancaster County which are cheaper, feature wider sites and are not next to a major highway.

An OK state park with level, pull-through sites and full hookups. It's no frills here - no shade, no campfires, no activities. The beach is a short walk away, as is fishing on Indian River. I imagine it's brutal there in the summertime - an asphalt parking lot filled with campers. Over Easter, it was pretty deserted.

A nice park with spacious, wooded sites, many of them pull-through and/or have concrete pads. Pool was closed, but it looks good. Lake is clean. About half the park is filled with permanent, but those sites are well maintained. Price is high, but likely more worth it in the summer, when there are organized events. Charged $2 per child. In April, children get in for free.

This is a very clean campground conveniently located along I-95, which provided us with an excellent overnight stop on a return trip from Florida. Sites were pull through and level. Price was reasonable. Highway noise is present, but you understand that, given the campground's location. The owner was friendly and guided us to our site by riding his bike, which kept our speed in check.

I would echo the recent review the described a positive experience. I didn't experience the issues mentioned by the other reviewers about the campground owner. It's not cheap to stay at this campground, for sure, but there were a lot of scheduled activities and we will likely be back; probably off-season to avoid the high charges.

A nice, large campground, but not quite a “resort.” Stay in 1500-1600 sites, which are wooded, wide and have full utilities. Sites there are spaced well apart, which enhances privacy. Streets in the campground are wide and easy to maneuver, but very dark at night. Permanent sites are well-maintained and predominantly segregated from transient sites. Events scheduled throughout the day. A well-stocked camp store, but prices are high. Staff was friendly. Firewood for sale was wet. WiFi is available for a fee, but signal is weak to non-existent in the 1500 sites. Sewer connection in the 1500 sites features a concrete pad, which made for a clean connection. Mini golf course in dire need of repair. Game room more expensive than most. Some of the play areas need repair. Two pools and several areas to play outdoor games. Located close to Amish farms, but Lancaster County’s tourist “traps” are 10-20 miles away. A Good Sam park.

Roads primary stone; difficult to maneuver around hilly portion of campground, and leaves clouds of dust throughout. Although sited in woods, does include large areas of open space. Features two pools, one for over-21 crowd; the other featuring a poolside snack bar. Mini-golf was cheap, unfortunately so was the condition of the course. Two-thirds of campground filled with seasonal campers, packed in very tight. Cable includes HBO and Nick; no Disney. No Wi-Fi and no cell service available. Camp store well-stocked and fairly priced. Staff very friendly and helpful. Offered escort to site if desired. Buy at least two bundles of firewood and get free delivery. Made reservation via website and got site for $30/night instead of $40. Website does not indicate where you will be parked when you make reservations. If you can, call ahead and ask to be placed in “The Hill” which features sites among woods. Not a Good Sam Club park.

Our 13 and 8-year-olds really liked this park, mainly because it is very active. The water slides were a plus and fairly busy on Saturday during the day - but nothing more that what you'd find at a typical waterpark. It calmed down by Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning was great. We'd easily spend more than $7 a person for a couple hours at a water park elsewhere. Best sites for anything larger than 25' are #200 to #219, which are a bit more expensive, but worth the price. They're a bit close together, but they're level and you're away from the action. Our 31' got squeezed into a short site which had shade and was kind of level, but was a bit too close to our neighbors for comfort and right in front of the bike rentals. The campground was clean overall and its cable system features lots of channels. The staff members were friendly - a guide escorted us to our site when we got there and printed out maps of local sights when asked. The campground is close to Antietam National Battlefield and Harper's Ferry. We'd go back, but probably later in the year. They are a Good Sam park .

We stayed in this park in fall 2006 and returned in the summer to take advantage of the activities - pool, ice cream floats and hay rides. The staff was pleasant and the facilities are clean. The pool was being landscaped. This is not an overly active family campground, but not a peaceful getaway, either. One complaint: They are overzealous when it comes to their check-out time. Notes were placed on vehicles at the crack of dawn letting campers know they had to be out by noon or face charges that basically accrue by the minute. C'mon folks: Is this really necessary or are you hurting that much for money? The staff hovers around the campground in golf carts and pickups on Sunday morning waiting for people to vacate the premises - which leaves campers with a bad experience to close out the weekend. Too bad.

Highs: Moderate cost; pleasant check-in; activities on some weekends; hiking trails, good fishing and boating. Abundant wildlife and great environmental sightseeing opportunities. Distance between sites provide privacy. lots of open space and a variety of camping is available. Reasonable camp store and snack bar. Half of campground featured permanent sites. Lows: An average of 30 feet to electric; 100 feet to a water connection at most sites. No sewer. Website for campground is weak on information. Pads are narrow and not level. Traffic from Pa Route 372, which is sole east-west route in southern Lancaster County, is abundant with big trucks using Jake Brakes. The sound roars throughout the valley although the night wasn't nearly as bad as feared. Windows were closed - not sure what it would be like in a tent camper in July. Man at boat rental station spoke about three words, gave few instructions as to proper boating technique and safety. He was only surpassed by a handful of retired locals who apparently like to hang out at the dock and complain with intermittent swearing about mundane things. Great learning lesson for the kids!?

Highs: Designated area for arrivals at camp office which made check-in a breeze. One of the better KOA's around. Buildings in great condition. Permanent sites mostly segregated from transient campers. Several play areas around the site - basketball and volleyballs court featured holders that made balls available for instant play. Very convenient if you don't normally pack a basketball. Park is clean and quiet at night. Sites in "big rig area" are pretty close together. Sites are level and feature stone. Events are held most weekends. Staff was nice and helpful. Camp store and game room was modest. Lows: Very hilly campground. Not good for biking. Few fish in pond. Area next to campground once a par-3 golf course, now a wooded area with high grass. Driveway entering campground ate up course land - should have left it available for golf. Not really that close to HERSHEY PARK, probably at least 30-45 minutes from park. Closer to the Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, if that freaks you out. Have to travel through the town of Elizabethtown, which has narrow streets and a RR bridge which makes you think twice about the true height of your trailer.

A very hilly campground with lots of permanent campers. Probably 30 sites are available on a temp basis. Called on a Thursday and got a site the next day, close to the entrance, but that wasn't a bad thing, considering the hill. This is not a campground to bike at, some of the hills rival a ski slope. The staff was friendly, the pool is big, the permanent campers were nice as well. The small pond has lots of 4" sunnies in it. They had an entertaining pig roast and a Hawaiian party on Saturday night. We'll be back.

A busy park for busy families. Located along the Susquehanna River and a nice-sized lake. Lots for kids to do and scheduled activities throughout the day and night. Pool features a "splash park" which is nice for families with small children. It does get crowded in the afternoon though. Check in was a bit hairy as there were a lot of people walking around on the streets and kids riding bikes came out of nowhere. Streets in the park are narrow, but straight. Even though they don't have many permanent campers, I really doubt there's 220 sites available here. Most sites are level. Sites along the lake featured concrete pads and stone. It works as long as you remember to leave room for the slideout. Sneaking in between the pad and the utility pole was a challenge. However, the pad is a nice touch and kept our camper clean. Ask for the lake side sites as they appear wider and have less traffic than those near the camp store or the river. There are fewer trees but more privacy. Almost every activity requires a fee, which is OK if you know going in. Bike rentals are especially expensive - $7 to $15 an hour for some. Best to buy an activity pack which provides passes to mini golf, bumper boats, bike and paddle boat rentals. Don't bother bringing your fishing pole: While the lake is nice, anything alive of substance in there has been fished out. The park has lots of friendly staff and the park is clean. They do travel around on Sunday before noon to make sure you're making progress on leaving. Check-out time of noon seems a bit early, compared to other parks in the region. The park offers a 20% discount on a return trip if it rains four hours on a Saturday during your weekend stay. It was hot and sunny when we visited.

We liked this campground. It was pretty empty; even the permanent campers stayed at home this weekend. The park was quiet this weekend, except for a noisy BMX motorcycle rider from the rural neighborhood who thought it cool to see how fast he could fly on the road near the park. The park was clean, the staff was pleasant. They had security on site during the day, checking people who came in. The park employed several high school kids in the camp HQ, but they were respectful. The camp's gameroom is pretty small. The camp store wasn't too expensive and the snack bar portions were generous. The camp's swimming pool was clean, although small; not sure what it would be like if the park was full. There are other activities held for families during the day - they promoted each from the HQ with a big speaker system, which was nice. The biggest challenge for the park is its remote location. There is a narrow, widing road you have to take to get there. No fun for big rigs. We arrived in the early evening and left in the mid afternoon, so there was little traffic. Thank God. This is a nice place to stay if you want to see the Amish Country in northeastern Lancaster County.

A nice, cheap state park located between Harrisburg and York. All of the sites are paved and level, which is a plus. Most sites feature privacy - lots of room for a campfire or outdoor dinner. The lake is nice and has a swimming area with polite lifeguards. You can rent boats, go hiking, frisbee golf and other activities. The park is mostly flat and features several streets, which is great for biking. There is no water or sewer here, which leads to busy moments at the park's four-input dumping station. There are several locations to fill up on water. This park appears to be favored by tent campers. There were several the weekend we stayed overnight and the park was incredibly busy over the Memorial Day weekend when we visited for the day. We'll be back for another quick trip.
